I have to admit I didn’t know what to expect when I heard this album. This band has been around for sometime and I have seen and met them on more then one occasion. I haven’t heard what they have been as of late until a colleague of mine brought this to my attention and man am I glad he did. This is SEVENDUST’s KILL THE FLAW

This has got to be one of the band’s heaviest records to date. The texture feels quite muddy but not sloppy. One technique the band seems to utilize a lot through out they’re career is this pause break with the guitars and although they have been doing this since their early days it never comes off as formulaic. Plus I got to give them props for having that kind of capability. It’s easy to just strum chords repeatedly but, to pull of this kind of craft everyone’s timing has to be dead on with no room for error. So nice harmonies guys.

The drums feel like the predominant instrument through out the album and Morgan Rose is a monster behind the kit. Constructing well crafted beats that hit hard. There is something about the drums and the singer’s (Lajon Witherspoon) vocals that just mesh so well together. I can’t quite put my finger on it but man does it work. You can tell they put a lot of thought and effort into making this album. None of the songs comes off as filler and almost any of them could easily be a song played on the radio and I am thrilled I bought. This album gets an 8 out of 10. Be sure to pick up a copy of KILL THE FLAW available at all major outlets and iTunes. Until next time nation ROCK ON \\m// \\m//
