Rebecca Shoichet Confirmed for Final BronyCon

Greetings Nation,

I am so Happy to announce that the voice of Sunset Shimmer & the singing voice for Twilight Sparkle Rebecca Shoichet has been Confirmed for the Final BronyCon.

I absolutely love her character. She has had one of the best story arcs in the series. Started out as a villain who wanted to rule over Equestria, was taken down, and has had a long and strenuous climb to reformation and redemption. Plus whenever Rebecca gets to do a song, she always gets some of the best lines. Some of my favorites are

  1. In These Pages you’ll last forever. (in Forgotten Friendship)
  2. Be the legend you are meant to be. (The Legend of EverFree)
  3. Like a Phoenix burning bright in the sky. (my past is not today)

Plus the first time I met her. I asked her if I could ask Sunset Shimmer a question. She spoke to me in character and I asked “Sunset” if you could take it all back. Would you? She said no. She got a lot of friends and learned a lot from what she did. It’s sweet to know she’s thought about her character as much as we all have.

This will be Rebecca’s first  appearance at BronyCon since 2014. She is most recently known for her multiple roles in “My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,” most prominently as the villain turned hero Sunset Shimmer, and is the singing voice for Twilight Sparkle. In addition, she has voiced other well-remembered characters such as Night Glider and Sugar Belle.

Rebecca’s voice acting career expands well beyond “MLP” as well. Some of her credits in animation include playing Wisteria in “Littlest Pet Shop,” Jane in “Tarzan and Jane,” Apple Dumpling in “Strawberry Shortcake,” and numerous characters in “Enchantimals: Finding Home.” In addition, she has also provided voices for characters in English-dubs of Japanese anime such as “Nana Osaki” and “Inuyasha.”

Outside of her studio work, Rebecca sings live with the bands Mimosa, Soulstream, and Side One. She has also toured with pop/rock artists Amanda Marshall and Tom Cochrane.
